ASICS’ latest collaboration comes in the form of a limited-edition two-piece drop with famed New York brand, New Era. Featuring reimagined editions of the ASICS GEL-DS TRAINER™ OG shoe and the New Era 9FIFTY RETRO CROWN, the capsule takes inspiration from the architecture and intersecting streets of modern cities, and is anchored by a discreet shade of concrete gray bolstered by details highlighting the collision between modern and retro aesthetics.

For this collaboration, the re-released OG version of the GEL-DS TRAINER™ shoe was chosen for its decades-long staying power. The upper contrasts suede paneling over a nylon base for an authentic vintage look, all of which is rendered in different shades of grey to echo the palette of the city. Hits of red and navy blue can be found on the sole, insole, shoelaces, lace holes and aglets, representing Japan and the United States – the home countries of the two brands. The tongues have been printed with the addresses of the two brands’ headquarters: Kobe, Japan for ASICS, and New York for New Era. Meanwhile, 3M reflective material has been used on the tongue patch and ASICS stripes, while the New Era logo can be found on the matte metallic dubrae.
